The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000435 is a reduced shank cobalt drill bit designed for drilling ferrous metals and a broad range of secondary materials including aluminum, copper, titanium, nickel, and magnesium. It features a 49/64 inch (0.7656 inch decimal) cutting diameter paired with a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank, allowing it to fit standard 1/2 inch chucks without requiring a larger capacity machine. The 118-degree split point reduces walking at drill entry and lowers thrust force, which matters when working in production or repetitive-hole environments. This bit belongs to the R56CO series and is built for right-hand cutting in demanding shop and field applications.
This drill bit is suited for machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working with ferrous metals, aluminum, copper, magnesium, nickel, synthetic materials, and titanium. The reduced shank design makes it practical on drill presses, magnetic drills, and hand-held equipment limited to 1/2 inch chuck capacity while still cutting at the larger 49/64 inch diameter. A 3 inch flute length supports drilling to a maximum depth of 3 inches, and the 6 inch overall length provides clearance in most standard setups. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for general-purpose drilling where coated tooling is not required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use reduced shank drill bit compatible with 1/2 inch chuck capacity equipment. Rated for primary use in ferrous metals and secondary use in aluminum, cermet, copper, magnesium, nickel, synthetic, and titanium workpiece materials per supplier specifications.
Installation and use of this drill bit is performed by machinists, fabricators, or maintenance technicians using a drill press, magnetic drill, or hand drill with a 1/2 inch or larger chuck. Ensure the machine is fully powered down and the chuck is securely tightened before beginning any drilling operation. Do not exceed the recommended maximum drilling depth of 3 inches as indicated by the flute length. Follow applicable shop safety standards and wear appropriate PPE including eye protection when operating rotary cutting tools.
