The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000325 is a taper length, high speed steel drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling across a wide range of materials. It features a 0.3580-inch diameter with a 118-degree standard point angle and a bright, uncoated finish. The straight shank and right-hand spiral flute geometry make it compatible with standard drill chucks found on drill presses and hand-held power tools. Web thinning reduces thrust requirements at the point, improving penetration efficiency. This bit is sized to letter designation T and is suited for machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators who need a reliable, shop-floor-ready drill bit.
This taper length drill bit is built for general-purpose metal fabrication and maintenance applications in both shop and field environments. The extended flute length of 4.25 inches and overall length of 6.75 inches provide additional reach compared to a jobber-length bit, making it useful when working in deeper setups or on drill presses where clearance allows. It is appropriate for residential and commercial maintenance, light manufacturing, and fabrication shops. Material compatibility is broad, covering ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as select plastics.
Compatible with alloy steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, cermet, copper, graphite, hardened steel, high strength bronze, magnesium, magnesium alloy, malleable iron, nickel, nickel alloy, reinforced plastic materials, and stainless steel. Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock drill bit in Series R55.
This bit is intended for installation by machinists, maintenance technicians, or experienced tradespeople using a standard drill chuck sized for a 0.3580-inch straight shank. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout before drilling into finished workpieces. Power down and de-energize the drill press or power tool before inserting or removing the bit. Avoid excessive feed pressure, which can cause bit deflection or premature tip wear.
