The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000320 is a high speed steel (HSS) jobber-length drill bit ground to a 118-degree standard point angle. Designed for general-purpose drilling in light production and maintenance environments, this bit features a bright, uncoated finish and a two-flute regular spiral design that clears chips efficiently in shallow-hole applications. The straight cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks. With an overall length of 0.748 inches and a flute length of 0.1181 inches, this is a precision micro-drill intended for work requiring tight positional accuracy in small-diameter holes.
This bit is suited for drilling aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and similar materials where a small-diameter hole is required. Typical applications include instrument repair, electronics assembly, small-part fabrication, and fine mechanical work. The 0.0098-inch diameter corresponds to a No. 87 wire gauge size and a 0.25 mm metric equivalent. Series 2A construction meets DIN 338 and ANSI standards, making it appropriate for shops that require dimensionally consistent tooling across metric and inch specifications.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit for use in standard drill chucks accepting a straight shank. Compatible with handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC equipment configured for small-diameter straight-shank tooling in aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
This micro-drill bit should be installed and operated by machinists or tool-and-die technicians familiar with small-diameter drilling techniques. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling, as deflection is a significant risk at this diameter. Reduce feed pressure to avoid bit breakage, and use a center punch or spot drill to establish the entry point before advancing. Always wear eye protection when operating rotary cutting tools.
