The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000269 is a taper length, high speed steel drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling across a wide range of materials. It measures 0.8750 inches (7/8 inch) in diameter with a 10-inch overall length and a 6-1/8-inch spiral flute. The 118-degree standard point angle and web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduce entry force and help center the bit accurately. The bright/uncoated finish is suited for general metalworking environments where coating is not required. Licensed trades and machining professionals use this bit in production, maintenance, and fabrication applications.
This drill bit fits standard straight-shank drill chucks and is appropriate for use in stationary drill presses, CNC drilling centers, and heavy-duty hand-held drilling equipment. It is rated for right-hand cutting with a regular spiral flute geometry. The Series R51 designation places it in a taper length family, which provides additional reach compared to a jobber-length bit while maintaining rigidity. It is suited for drilling into alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, malleable iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, copper, high strength bronze, magnesium, magnesium alloy, nickel, nickel alloy, reinforced plastic materials, cermet, graphite, and hardened steel.
Designed as a general-purpose taper length drill bit compatible with any straight-shank drill chuck rated for 0.8750 inch shanks, including drill presses and CNC drilling equipment.
This bit is installed by machinists and maintenance trades using standard drill press or CNC spindle setups. Secure the straight shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify chuck key removal before powering the machine. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for harder materials such as stainless steel or hardened steel to extend tool life. Follow shop safety procedures and applicable ANSI machine tool standards when operating drilling equipment.
