It measures 0.0995 inches in diameter with an overall length of 4.625 inches and a flute length of 2.5 inches. Constructed from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it features a standard 118-degree drill point, a right-hand spiral flute, and a straight shank. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust during entry and improves chip evacuation. This bit is suited for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working with hand-held drills, drill presses, or CNC machinery.
The 6000141 is built for general-purpose applications across a broad material spectrum. It is rated for use in alloy steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, copper, graphite, hardened steel, high strength bronze, magnesium, magnesium alloy, malleable iron, nickel, nickel alloy, reinforced plastic materials, and stainless steel. Its taper length body provides additional reach compared to a standard jobber bit, making it suitable for deeper holes or setups where a longer flute engagement is needed without stepping up to a full extra-long series bit.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or new-installation taper length drill bit compatible with standard three-jaw chucks accepting a 0.0995-inch straight shank. Rated for drilling alloy steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, copper, stainless steel, nickel alloys, magnesium alloys, and reinforced plastic materials per Series R52 specifications.
Install this bit in a properly sized drill chuck and tighten securely before operation. Ensure workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent movement during drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the material being drilled, particularly with stainless steel or hardened alloys, even though the bit does not have through-coolant capability. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before reuse and replace or resharpen when point geometry degrades to maintain hole quality and reduce breakage risk.
