The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000107 is a reduced shank twist drill bit designed for general-purpose hole-making in metal and non-ferrous materials. The bit measures 1-5/16 inches (1.3125 inches) in diameter with a 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical reduced shank, allowing it to fit standard drill chucks while cutting oversized holes. Overall length is 6 inches with a 3-inch spiral flute. Manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a 118-degree standard point angle suited to a wide range of common shop and field applications. Right-hand cut direction. Machinists, pipefitters, ironworkers, and maintenance technicians are the primary users.
This bit is built for drilling ferrous metals including steel and iron, and is also rated for use in aluminum, copper, magnesium, nickel, titanium, synthetic materials, and cermet. The reduced shank design makes it practical when a full-size chuck is not available but a large-diameter hole is required. The 3-inch flute length supports drilling to a maximum depth of 3 inches, making it well suited to plate work, structural steel, and heavy mechanical fabrication where a standard jobber-length bit would not reach the required diameter without an oversized chuck.
Designed as a general-purpose reduced shank drill bit compatible with 3/4-inch drill chucks. Rated for use in ferrous metals, aluminum, copper, magnesium, nickel, titanium, synthetic materials, and cermet workpieces.
This bit is installed by machinists, fabricators, and maintenance trades using a drill press, magnetic drill, or heavy-duty hand drill with a 3/4-inch or larger chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify chuck key removal prior to starting the machine. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant based on workpiece material and consult machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed at this diameter. Always wear eye protection and secure the workpiece to prevent rotation.
