It measures 0.375 inches (3/8 inch) in diameter with an overall length of 3.125 inches and a flute length of 1.8125 inches. The bit is manufactured from high speed steel with a coated finish and features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and decreases the thrust needed to start a hole. A tapered web with web thinning improves chip evacuation and cutting efficiency, making this bit well suited for demanding production environments where speed and hole quality matter.
This screw machine length bit is rated for cutting titanium as its primary workpiece material, placing it in the high-performance category for difficult-to-machine metals. The shorter flute-to-diameter ratio of 2.5xD and straight-cylindrical shank are standard for screw machine and turret lathe setups, as well as drill press and CNC applications where rigidity and repeatability are priorities.
