The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5999152 is a wire gauge No. 34 jobber length drill bit ground from high speed steel and finished with a steam oxide coating. It measures 0.1110 inches in diameter and 2.625 inches overall, with a 1.5-inch spiral flute and a straight cylindrical shank of 0.1110 inches in diameter. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust requirements compared to a standard 118-degree point. The web-thinned, tapered web construction improves chip evacuation. This bit is sized for general-purpose drilling in production and maintenance applications and is installed by machinists, millwrights, and HVAC or mechanical trade techs requiring precise small-diameter holes.
This drill bit is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium in both shop and field environments. The steam oxide finish provides mild lubricity and corrosion resistance during storage and use. The regular spiral flute geometry keeps chip flow predictable across a wide range of workpiece materials. It fits standard drill chucks and is appropriate for drill presses, hand drills, and CNC machines that accept straight cylindrical shanks. The 1.5-inch maximum drilling depth supports through-hole and blind-hole work within jobber-length reach.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style jobber length drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks. Workpiece material compatibility includes steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium per the manufacturer material codes P, M, K, N, and S.
Install in a properly sized drill chuck and tighten securely before operation. Power down or de-energize the drilling equipment before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material, especially when drilling stainless steel or superalloys, to manage heat and extend tool life. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use; a worn or damaged bit can cause oversized holes and workpiece damage.
