The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5999139 is a jobber-length twist drill bit sized to wire gauge 32, with a decimal diameter of 0.1160 inches. Built from high-speed steel with a steam oxide coating, it features a 135-degree split-point tip that reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust force compared to a standard 118-degree point. The spiral flute design with a tapered web and web-thinned geometry improves chip evacuation in deeper holes. At 2.75 inches overall length with a 1.625-inch flute length, it suits production drilling in tight work envelopes. This is a general-purpose, heavy-duty grade bit intended for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metal fabricators.
The 5999139 is rated for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It performs reliably in general-purpose production environments where consistent hole quality in a range of metallic workpiece materials is required. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet systems without modification. The bit is not coolant-through and is best suited for applications where external coolant or dry drilling is the established method.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose jobber drill for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.1160-inch straight cylindrical shank. Part of the PRECISION TWIST DRILL Series R10B, R15B, and R18B product family as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and use of this bit is typically performed by machinists or maintenance mechanics operating drill presses, CNC machining centers, or handheld power drills. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify zero runout before drilling. When working on stainless steel or superalloys, apply appropriate cutting fluid to manage heat buildup and extend bit life. Inspect the cutting edges and web condition regularly; a worn or chipped tip on a small-diameter bit can cause hole oversizing or bit breakage.
