The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5999122 is a No. 29 wire-size jobber length drill bit machined from high speed steel with a steam oxide coating. It measures 2.875 inches overall, with a 1.75-inch spiral flute length and a straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 0.136 inches. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry and cuts cleanly through steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Web thinning and a tapered web configuration reduce thrust requirements and improve chip evacuation. This is a general-purpose, heavy-duty bit suited for production and maintenance drilling operations performed by machinists, millwrights, and skilled tradespeople.
The 5999122 is designed for drilling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials across a broad range of shop and field applications. Its regular spiral and two-flute geometry make it effective in handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC setups where a standard jobber-length profile is required. The bit is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metal, superalloys, and titanium, conforming to NAS 907 specification and meeting ANSI standards.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber length drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks in handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC machines. Suited for workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metal, superalloys, and titanium. Part of the R10B-R15B-R18B series.
Install in a drill chuck sized to accept a 0.136-inch straight-cylindrical shank and tighten securely before operation. Apply cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material to extend tool life, particularly when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated maximum drilling depth of 1.75 inches per pass; retract periodically to clear chips. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
