The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5999112 is a jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge number 23, with a decimal diameter of 0.154 inches. It is machined from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish and features a standard 118-degree split-point angle with a web-thinned tip for improved penetration and reduced walking on entry. The two-flute spiral design with a regular helix provides efficient chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole drilling operations. At 3.125 inches overall length with a 2-inch flute length, this bit is suited for production drilling tasks where consistent hole geometry and tool life are required. Installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators.
This drill bit is designed for general-purpose drilling in a wide range of metallic workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It fits standard three-jaw drill chucks via its straight cylindrical shank measuring 0.154 inches in diameter and 1.125 inches in shank length. The R18P series designation places it within the PRECISION TWIST DRILL R10P-R15P-R18P family of general-purpose jobber bits. Typical applications include structural fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and light manufacturing environments where a broad material compatibility range is needed from a single bit size.
Part of the PRECISION TWIST DRILL Series R10P-R15P-R18P. Rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. Compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.154-inch straight cylindrical shank. Coolant-through operation is not supported.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or experienced technician. Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck and verify concentricity before beginning a cut. Power down and de-energize any machine tool completely before changing bits. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 2 inches per pass without retracting to clear chips.
