The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5999094 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal and hard materials. Ground from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it carries a No. 50 wire gauge designation, equal to 0.0700 inches in diameter. The 118-degree standard point angle suits a wide range of workpiece materials and is compatible with most drill press and hand-drill chucks. The 2-flute spiral flute design evacuates chips efficiently, and the web-thinned, tapered web reduces thrust force at the point. Machinists, millwrights, and sheet-metal fabricators reach for this style of bit when drilling pilot holes, clearance holes, or precise small-diameter features.
This bit is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks without requiring a collet adapter. The 14xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 1-inch maximum drilling depth make it appropriate for through-hole and shallow blind-hole work in stock up to 1 inch thick. It is sized for benchtop drill presses, CNC machining centers, and portable power drills used in production and maintenance applications. Part of the R10H/R18H series, it conforms to ANSI standards for jobber-length bits.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit compatible with standard drill chucks accepting a 0.0700-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and portable power drills across metalworking applications.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or trades professional following standard shop-safety practices. Ensure the drill chuck is fully tightened and the workpiece is securely clamped before beginning the cut. Apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium to extend tool life. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use and replace the bit if the point is chipped or dulled to avoid workpiece damage.
