The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5998560 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding trade and manufacturing environments. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a coated finish, this bit measures 0.111 inches in diameter and carries a 135-degree split point angle for fast, accurate starts without center-punching. The overall length is 1-7/8 inches with a 7/8-inch flute length, making it compact and rigid for close-tolerance work. The web-thinned, tapered web construction reduces thrust force and improves chip evacuation. A straight cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and machine collets.
This bit is suited for production drilling, machining, and maintenance operations where a short, stiff drill is required to minimize deflection. The Series R41C is rated for use in titanium as the primary workpiece material, making it appropriate for aerospace, precision fabrication, and industrial maintenance applications. Right-hand cut with a regular spiral flute, it is compatible with standard CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power drills running clockwise rotation. It conforms to ANSI and NAS 907 specifications and carries a 2.5xD flute-to-diameter ratio for controlled chip removal.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production drill bit for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and power hand tools accepting a straight cylindrical shank. Fits the 0.1000 to 0.1500 inch drill bit size range category per Series R41C specifications.
Installation is performed by machinists and maintenance technicians. Secure the straight cylindrical shank fully in the drill chuck or collet before operation, and confirm the tool is locked before powering the machine. Ensure spindle rotation is set to clockwise (right-hand) before engaging the workpiece. Follow shop safety protocols and applicable ANSI machining standards when drilling titanium or other high-strength materials.
