The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5998080 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Manufactured from high speed steel with a steam oxide coating, it measures 19/64 inches (0.2969 inches) in diameter with a 135-degree split-point angle that reduces walking and improves bite on flat and curved surfaces. The overall length is 4-3/8 inches, with a 3-1/16-inch flute length and a straight-cylindrical shank. A two-flute, regular spiral configuration provides efficient chip evacuation. This bit is suited for use in drill presses, lathes, and handheld power drills on trade and industrial job sites.
This drill bit is rated for drilling into steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, and S. The R10B series designation indicates a 10xD flute-to-diameter ratio, making it appropriate for standard jobber-length applications in fabrication, mechanical contracting, and maintenance environments. The web-thinned, tapered web construction reduces thrust requirements, which is especially useful when drilling harder materials by hand or with lower-torque tools. One bit is included per package.
Designed for use in drilling applications on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Compatible with any standard drill press, lathe tailstock, or handheld power drill equipped with a chuck sized for a 19/64-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the R10B-R15B-R18B series.
Installation and use of this bit is performed by machinists, millwrights, pipefitters, and general mechanical tradespeople. Secure the straight shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify chuck key is removed before starting the spindle. Wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece to prevent rotation. Apply cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium to manage heat and extend bit life.
