Manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it is designed for general-purpose drilling in steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The bit features a standard 118-degree point angle, a regular spiral flute pattern, and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. Overall length is 1.5 inches with a 5/8-inch flute length. This is a precision small-diameter bit used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople in production and field applications.
The 5998078 is suited for drilling small-diameter holes in metallic substrates across both light manufacturing and maintenance-repair-operations (MRO) environments.
