It measures 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch decimal) in diameter with an overall length of 2.25 inches and a flute length of 1.25 inches. The bit is manufactured from high speed steel with a steam oxide coating that reduces friction and provides basic corrosion resistance. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry and requires less feed pressure than a standard 118-degree point. A web-thinned, tapered web construction supports chip evacuation through the two spiral flutes. This bit is typically installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, HVAC and plumbing trade professionals, and electricians during sheet metal or structural drilling tasks.

Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck and verify concentricity before drilling. Apply consistent feed pressure appropriate to the workpiece material — excessive force on small-diameter bits increases the risk of breakage. Use cutting fluid or coolant when drilling stainless steel, titanium, or superalloys to manage heat buildup, since this bit does not have coolant-through capability. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit if the point shows signs of dulling to maintain hole quality and prevent workpiece damage.
