The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5989076 is an upcut spiral router bit designed for cutting non-ferrous metals and soft materials. Built from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it features a 0.081-inch cutter diameter and a 0.8125-inch length of cut. The aircraft taper shank style and right-hand cutting direction make it a precise tool for controlled material removal in routing applications. It is typically installed and operated by machinists, toolmakers, or fabricators working with aluminum, copper, brass, and similar soft materials.
This router bit is suited for use on CNC routers, manual routing tables, and handheld routing equipment where fine, small-diameter cutting is required. Its upcut flute geometry pulls chips up and out of the cut path, which helps clear debris and reduce heat buildup during passes through non-ferrous metals and soft materials. The 0.098-inch shank diameter fits collets sized accordingly, and the 2-inch overall length provides adequate reach for standard routing operations without excessive overhang.
Designed for use in routers accepting a 0.098-inch (2.50 mm) shank diameter collet. Suitable for cutting non-ferrous metals and soft materials.
Install and remove router bits only after the spindle has come to a complete stop and power has been disconnected or locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the shank fully within the collet to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth before tightening. Inspect the bit for chips, cracks, or runout before each use. This bit should be installed and operated by qualified machinists or fabricators familiar with router tooling and workholding practices.
