The PRECISION BRAND 81415 is a slotted stainless steel shim stock used for precision alignment, leveling, and shimming applications in mechanical and industrial assembly work. Each piece measures 0.1 mm thick, 4 inches long, and 100 mm wide, with a 1-1/4 inch wide slot that allows the shim to slip around fasteners or shafts without removing hardware. The pack contains 10 pieces. Stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance and dimensional stability under load. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians typically use this type of shim stock when aligning machinery bases, flanges, and equipment mounts.
This shim stock is suited for precision alignment tasks in manufacturing facilities, machine shops, and industrial maintenance environments. The slotted design is especially practical for shimming under bolted equipment where full disassembly is not practical. The 0.1 mm thickness allows for fine incremental adjustments when stacking multiple shims to achieve a target clearance. The stainless steel material holds up in environments with moisture, mild chemicals, or elevated temperatures where plain steel shims would corrode.
Designed as a standard slotted shim stock for use in general industrial machinery alignment, equipment leveling, and precision assembly applications where a 0.1 mm stainless steel shim is required.
Installation is performed by millwrights, machinists, or maintenance technicians. De-energize and lock out equipment before inserting or adjusting shims under machinery bases. Use calibrated feeler gauges or dial indicators to verify alignment after shimming. Do not compress stainless steel shims beyond their elastic limit, as permanent deformation will affect achieved clearance.
