The PRECISION BRAND 15325 is a zinc-finished, low-carbon steel key stock used to secure rotating components such as gears, pulleys, and sprockets to shafts in mechanical drive systems. Each piece measures 3/8 inch wide by 1/4 inch high by 12 inches long and meets ASTM A108 material specification. The Rockwell B80-90 hardness rating provides reliable shear resistance under typical drive-train loads. This key stock is installed by millwrights, machinists, and maintenance technicians during equipment assembly or repair where a keyed shaft-hub connection is required. Each package contains 6 pieces.
This key stock is suited for use in industrial and commercial machinery applications including conveyor drives, pump assemblies, and motor-to-gearbox connections. The zinc finish provides a basic level of corrosion resistance for indoor and light-duty service environments. The 12-inch length allows the installer to cut individual keys to the required length for each application using standard shop equipment. The ASTM A108 specification ensures consistent material chemistry and machinability across the lot.
Designed as a standard rectangular key stock for keyed shaft-hub connections requiring a 3/8-inch wide by 1/4-inch high keyway profile per common inch-series drive standards.
Key stock installation is typically performed by machinists or maintenance technicians. De-energize and lock out the machine before removing or installing any shaft components. Key stock should be cut to length using a bandsaw, hacksaw, or milling machine and deburred before fitting into the keyway. Do not force an oversized key into a keyway, as this can cause shaft or hub damage.
