The sl-5a-a is intended for commercial and residential occupancies that require reliable visual warning coverage. Its polarized design allows connection to supervised circuits, which is a standard requirement in addressable and conventional fire alarm systems. Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or electrician and must comply with applicable NFPA standards, NEC requirements, and all state and local codes as directed by the authority having jurisdiction. De-energize and silence the fire alarm control panel before wiring or servicing the strobe. Verify polarity before connecting to supervised circuits to prevent reverse-polarity faults. Do not exceed the supervised circuit loading limits specified by the fire alarm control panel manufacturer.
