The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL ra-6500 is an LCD remote annunciator designed for use with addressable fire alarm control systems. It communicates with the main control panel over an RS-485 connection, delivering real-time indication of Alarm, Supervisory, Trouble, Silenced, and Power status conditions. The unit features a 4x40 format, 160-character LCD display paired with dedicated status LEDs for each system condition. The enclosure is constructed of sheet metal and secured with a Potter lock to restrict unauthorized keypad access. Licensed fire alarm technicians install and commission this device as part of a larger fire detection and notification system.
The ra-6500 is intended for installation in commercial and light industrial fire alarm applications where a remote annunciation point is required away from the primary control panel. It provides common control and status functions at a secondary location, allowing first responders and building personnel to monitor system state without returning to the main panel. The unit mounts on a standard single-gang electrical box or a four-square electrical box, making it adaptable to a variety of building wiring configurations.
Designed for use with the PFC-6000 Series addressable fire alarm control panels by POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out power to the fire alarm control panel before wiring the RS-485 communication connection. Verify polarity and termination requirements on the RS-485 bus per the control panel documentation before restoring power. Do not mount the annunciator in locations subject to excessive moisture, vibration, or ambient conditions outside the panel manufacturer specifications.
