The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL psn-1000 is an intelligent, UL-listed 10-amp notification appliance circuit (NAC) power supply and P-Link (RS-485) repeater designed for fire alarm notification systems. It connects directly to the P-Link bus from a compatible control panel and is fully operated and supervised from that panel. The unit delivers six Class B or three Class A regulated, power-limited outputs, each rated at a 3-amp maximum. It operates on 120 or 220 VAC input and provides a regulated 24 VDC output, making it suitable for a wide range of notification appliance installations.
The psn-1000 is used in commercial and industrial fire alarm systems where extended P-Link communication distances or additional NAC circuit capacity are required. The power supply can be installed up to 6,500 feet from the control panel and then repeats the P-Link communication signal for an additional 6,500 feet, enabling large-facility and multi-building deployments. Two programmable, Class B supervised dry contact inputs provide additional system integration options. Each of the six outputs can be independently configured for one of four synchronization patterns: constant power, ANSI Temporal Code 3, Door Holder power, or synchronized notification using Quadrasync technology.
The psn-1000 connects to and is supervised by a compatible Potter P-Link fire alarm control panel. Quadrasync synchronization is supported for notification appliances from Potter/AMSECO, Gentex, Cooper Wheelock, and System Sensor.
Installation should be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out all AC power and discharge any backup batteries before servicing the unit or making wiring connections. Verify correct Class A or Class B wiring configuration for each NAC output circuit prior to energizing. Battery and AC wiring must be sized and protected in compliance with NEC requirements.
