The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL pad300-ib is a 6-inch isolator base designed for use in addressable fire alarm signaling line circuits. It incorporates an integrated isolator module that automatically opens the downstream Signaling Line Circuit when a short circuit condition is detected. This action isolates the fault while allowing devices located between the control panel and the isolator to continue operating normally. A steady red LED indicates an active short circuit condition. Once the short is cleared, the unit automatically resets to normal operation. Licensed fire alarm technicians install this base as part of a loop-topology fire detection system.
The pad300-ib isolator base is suited for residential and commercial fire alarm installations where SLC loop integrity is critical. It is designed to accept a compatible addressable detector head and includes a locking feature that secures the detector to the base. This locking tab may be removed in the field if the installation does not require it. When the detector head is removed, the integrated isolator module is accessible from the bottom of the base for inspection or service.
Designed as an OEM-style isolator base for use with compatible addressable detector heads in 6-inch base configurations on Signaling Line Circuit fire alarm systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. Disconnect power to the fire alarm control panel and de-energize the SLC loop before installing or servicing this base. Verify detector head seating and confirm the locking tab is properly engaged or removed per the project specification before closing out the installation.
