The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL pad300-hd is an addressable fixed-temperature heat detector designed for integration with compatible addressable fire alarm control systems. It features selectable temperature set points, allowing the unit to be configured for a range of commercial, institutional, and industrial environments where elevated ambient temperatures are a normal or expected condition. The sensing element monitors temperature rise continuously and triggers an alarm when the programmed threshold is reached. Licensed fire alarm technicians and life safety contractors typically handle installation and commissioning of this device.
The pad300-hd is suited for areas where smoke detection may be ineffective or inappropriate, including mechanical rooms, commercial kitchens, warehouses, and similar spaces with high heat, dust, or grease-laden air. Its intelligent communications capability allows it to report status and alarm conditions back to a compatible addressable fire alarm control panel. The detector mounts to a compatible base, which is sold separately, and supports clean, organized wiring onto standard electrical boxes.
Designed as an OEM-style addressable heat detector for use with compatible addressable fire alarm control systems. The required mounting base is not included and must be ordered separately.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. De-energize the fire alarm control panel circuit before connecting or disconnecting the detector. The mounting base is not included and must be compatible with the pad300-hd before installation begins. Do not defeat or bypass the alarm system during testing without notifying the monitoring station and building occupants per site procedures.
