The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL pad300-cd is an analog addressable carbon monoxide detector designed for life safety applications on fire alarm control panels running the Potter Addressable Device (PAD) protocol. The unit uses a proven electrochemical sensor to accurately detect CO gas and communicates with the control panel over a robust digital communication path. System analysis occurs at the device level, and total polling speed is under five seconds, meeting UL requirements. The detector body is constructed of durable plastic in an off-white finish, allowing it to blend with standard ceiling surfaces. Base is sold separately.
The pad300-cd is intended for installation in commercial and residential fire alarm systems where addressable CO detection is required. It is field-addressed using DIP switches located on the rear of the detector, requiring no special programming tools. The detector twists directly onto any compatible PAD300 series detector base, making it practical for new installations and retrofit applications where the existing base can be reused. Licensed fire alarm technicians and low-voltage contractors are the typical installing trade for this device.
Compatible with any fire alarm control panel that supports the Potter Addressable Device (PAD) protocol. Mounts to any PAD300 series detector base (base not included).
Installation should be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or qualified low-voltage contractor in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. De-energize the fire alarm control panel loop before connecting or removing the detector. Address the device using the DIP switches on the rear of the unit prior to installation. Do not substitute non-PAD300 series bases, as mechanical and electrical compatibility is specific to that platform.
