The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL pad300-6db is a low-profile, surface-mount base designed for use with Potter addressable detectors. It mounts directly to a surface and accepts screw clamp terminals that accommodate wire gauges ranging from 22 to 12 AWG, making field wiring straightforward for licensed fire alarm technicians. At 6 inches in diameter, the base is sized to fully cover a recessed electrical back box and the surrounding mounting surface, providing a clean, finished appearance after installation. A built-in locking tab deters unauthorized removal of the attached detector, supporting tamper-resistance requirements common in commercial fire alarm systems.
This base is suited for commercial and residential fire alarm installations where addressable detection systems are used. It is intended for surface-mount applications over recessed electrical boxes, offering coverage of the box and immediate surrounding area. The pad300-6db is the larger of the PAD300 base series, complementing the PAD300-4DB in installations where a 6-inch footprint is required to cover the back box or meet aesthetic requirements of the installed space.
Designed for use with Potter addressable detectors; part of the PAD300 base series alongside the PAD300-4DB.
Installation should be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out power to the fire alarm control panel circuit before wiring the base. Verify that the back box is securely fastened before mounting the surface base over it. Do not over-tighten screw clamp terminals, and confirm wire gauge falls within the accepted 22 to 12 AWG range before securing connections.
