The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL osysu-1 is an outside screw and yoke valve supervisory switch designed to monitor the open position of OSY-type gate valves in fire protection systems. Part of the OSYSU series, the osysu-1 includes one set of SPDT (Form C) contacts, providing a supervisory signal when the valve moves from its fully open position. This device is installed by licensed fire protection contractors and alarm technicians as part of a compliant supervisory circuit in wet, dry, or pre-action sprinkler systems.

The osysu-1 is suited for commercial and industrial fire suppression installations where OSY gate valve position monitoring is required by NFPA 13 or local authority having jurisdiction. It mounts to most OSY valves sized from 2 inches to 12 inches (50mm to 300mm) in diameter. Some valves as small as 12.5mm may also be compatible. The tamper-resistant cover is secured with two screws that require a special removal tool, which is included with each unit.
