The Potter Electric Signal CO. US CR-135-MP is a fixed temperature and rate-of-rise heat detector designed for use in fire alarm systems. It responds to rapid temperature increases as well as sustained high heat, triggering an alarm signal when either threshold is met. The aluminum construction keeps the unit lightweight while maintaining durability in typical installation environments. Licensed fire alarm technicians and security system contractors install this detector as part of a supervised initiating device circuit in both residential and light commercial applications.
The CR-135-MP is suited for areas where smoke detectors may produce false alarms due to dust, steam, or fumes, such as garages, attics, kitchens, boiler rooms, and laundry areas. Its dual-response mechanism provides an extra layer of detection reliability in these challenging environments. The unit is sold individually and integrates into conventional or compatible fire alarm control panel initiating device circuits.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation heat detector for conventional fire alarm initiating device circuits in residential and commercial fire alarm systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local fire codes. Disconnect and lock out power to the fire alarm control panel before wiring or replacing the detector. Mount the detector to a standard electrical box per the manufacturer mounting instructions, ensuring the sensing element faces downward as required. After installation, conduct a full system test to verify proper initiating circuit supervision and alarm response.
