The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL CO. US UD-2000 is a Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter (DACT) designed to work with compatible fire alarm control panels including the AFC, ARC, and PFC-4 series. A DACT connects a fire alarm system to a central monitoring station over standard telephone lines, transmitting alarm, supervisory, and trouble signals as required by NFPA 72. This unit is a notification accessory installed by licensed fire alarm technicians as part of a compliant fire alarm system installation. It is sold individually and is intended as either a new installation component or an OEM-style replacement in existing compatible panel configurations.
The UD-2000 is suited for commercial and light industrial fire alarm applications where central station monitoring is required by local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ). It is typically installed within or adjacent to the host fire alarm control panel enclosure. Compatible host panels include the AFC, ARC, and PFC-4 series as indicated by the manufacturer. This makes it a targeted replacement or expansion component for facilities already using those Potter Electric panel families.
Designed for use with Potter Electric AFC, ARC, and PFC-4 series fire alarm control panels as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. Power down the fire alarm control panel completely before connecting or removing the DACT. Verify telephone line availability and central station account configuration prior to commissioning. After installation, perform a full communications test to confirm signal transmission to the monitoring station.
