The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL CO. US RCDS-1 is a releasing circuit disable switch designed for use in fire suppression and waterflow control systems. This switch provides a manual means to disable a releasing circuit, allowing technicians to safely perform maintenance, testing, or system modifications without triggering an unintended suppression discharge. It is a single-unit component intended for installation by licensed fire protection or electrical contractors working within fire alarm and suppression control systems.
The RCDS-1 is applied in fire suppression system control panels and waterflow equipment installations, particularly in settings where releasing circuits must be temporarily isolated. Typical applications include pre-action, deluge, and other electrically actuated suppression systems where circuit disable capability is required for safe servicing. It is sold and installed as an individual unit.
Designed as an OEM-style releasing circuit disable switch for use with compatible fire suppression and waterflow control panel systems. Refer to the system control panel documentation to confirm fitment before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed fire protection contractor or qualified electrician in accordance with NFPA 72, NFPA 13, and applicable local codes. Ensure the fire suppression system and associated releasing circuits are fully deactivated and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) notification procedures are followed before beginning work. Do not bypass or permanently defeat releasing circuits in violation of the system design documents.
