The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL CO. US PS10-1 is a single switch pressure switch designed to detect changes in system pressure and trigger a switching action in response. This type of device is commonly installed in wet-pipe and dry-pipe fire suppression systems, hydronic piping, and similar pressurized water systems. It provides a discrete electrical output when a set pressure threshold is crossed. Licensed fire alarm technicians, plumbers, and mechanical contractors are the primary trades that install and commission this device.
The PS10-1 is suited for waterflow equipment applications, including fire protection piping and pressurized water distribution systems. It is typically installed at monitored branch lines or main supply risers where pressure-based event detection is required. The single-switch design provides one set of contacts for straightforward integration into control panels or alarm circuits.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation pressure switch for waterflow equipment systems in fire protection and pressurized water piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed fire protection technician, plumber, or qualified mechanical contractor in accordance with NFPA 13, NFPA 72, and applicable local codes. De-pressurize and isolate the piping segment before mounting or removing any pressure-sensing device. Verify that all electrical connections to the switch contacts comply with NEC requirements for the circuit type. Do not energize the associated control circuit until the device is fully seated and the system has been restored to operating pressure.
