The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL CO. US ABORT-B is a blue-button abort switch designed for use in fire suppression control systems. Abort switches provide a critical safety function, allowing authorized personnel to halt an automatic suppression discharge sequence before agent release occurs. This unit is sold individually and is intended for installation by licensed fire alarm or suppression system technicians working within commercial and industrial suppression applications.
The ABORT-B is used in fire suppression control panel installations where an abort or hold function is required. These switches are typically wired into the suppression system's pre-discharge circuit, giving occupants or system operators a timed window to interrupt an unintended or premature discharge. Installations are common in clean agent, CO2, and dry chemical suppression systems found in data centers, server rooms, industrial equipment areas, and other special hazard environments.
Designed as an OEM-style fire control accessory for use with compatible Potter Electric fire suppression control panels and abort circuit configurations. Refer to the manufacturer product manual for verified panel compatibility before installation.
Installation must be performed by a qualified fire alarm or suppression system technician in accordance with NFPA 12, NFPA 2001, or the applicable suppression agent standard, as well as local authority having jurisdiction requirements. Disable and lock out the suppression system at the control panel before disconnecting or replacing any abort station wiring. Do not install this device without confirming it is compatible with the existing control panel and abort circuit timing configuration.
