The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL 1000141 is a combination fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise heat detector designed for fire detection applications in commercial, residential, and institutional buildings. It triggers at a fixed threshold of 200 degrees F and also responds to rapid temperature increases that fall below the fixed setpoint, giving the system two independent detection mechanisms in a single device. The white housing mounts to a standard electrical box and blends with typical ceiling finishes. Licensed fire alarm technicians and electricians install this unit as part of a supervised fire alarm system where early warning is a life safety requirement.
This detector is suited for areas where smoke detectors are not appropriate due to dust, humidity, or normal process heat, such as kitchens, attics, garages, and mechanical rooms. It is applicable in both new construction and retrofit projects where a hardwired heat detection point is required on a conventional or addressable fire alarm control panel. The clean white finish is appropriate for finished interior ceilings in occupied spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation heat detector for use with compatible fire alarm control panels in conventional or supervised detection circuits.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or qualified electrician in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local fire codes. De-energize and lock out the fire alarm control panel circuit before wiring the detector to prevent false alarms or panel damage during installation. Verify that the detector base and wiring are compatible with the panel being used before completing the connection. Follow the manufacturer wiring diagram and conduct a full system test after installation to confirm proper operation.
