The Potter Electric Signal Co. PAD100-SIM is an addressable single input module designed for use in fire alarm and life safety control systems. It monitors a supervised contact input and reports its status back to the fire alarm control panel over the addressable loop. Licensed fire alarm technicians and low-voltage system integrators typically install this device as part of a distributed, addressable detection network. The module is sold as a single unit and is suited for applications where discrete input monitoring is required at a specific addressable point on the loop.
The PAD100-SIM is used in commercial and light industrial fire alarm installations where an addressable loop controller must monitor a dry-contact device such as a flow switch, tamper switch, pull station, or other supervisory input. It allows conventional contact-based field devices to communicate their status over an addressable signaling line circuit, integrating non-addressable hardware into an addressable system architecture.
Designed as an OEM-style addressable input module for use with compatible Potter Electric Signal Co. addressable fire alarm control panels and signaling line circuit loops.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes. Power down and isolate the signaling line circuit loop before connecting or removing any addressable module. Address programming must be completed and verified against the panel's point assignment map before returning the system to service. Do not install in environments outside the module's rated operating conditions as stated in the manufacturer product manual.
