The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL CO. US PAD 100-PSSA is an addressable single-action pull station designed for fire alarm systems. This manual initiation device allows occupants or first responders to trigger a fire alarm signal by pulling the handle downward in a single motion. It communicates with an addressable fire alarm control panel, providing the panel with a specific device address so operators can pinpoint the exact activation location. Licensed fire alarm technicians and life-safety contractors are the primary installers of this device in commercial and institutional settings.
The PAD 100-PSSA is suited for addressable fire alarm systems in commercial buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and other occupancies that require manual pull station coverage under NFPA 72. Its single-action operation meets the manual initiation requirements common in standard occupancy applications. When integrated into an addressable loop, it enables precise zone identification and faster emergency response compared to conventional initiating circuits.
Designed as an addressable manual pull station for use with compatible addressable fire alarm control panels. Refer to the manufacturer documentation to confirm protocol and loop compatibility before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local fire codes. De-energize and isolate the addressable signaling line circuit before making any wiring connections. Mount the device at the required height per NFPA 72 and ADA guidelines, typically between 42 and 48 inches above finished floor. After installation, perform a full functional test to confirm proper address assignment and signal transmission to the control panel.
