The POTTER ELECTRIC SIGNAL CO. US CF-165-MP is a sealed heat detector rated for activation at 165 degrees F. It is a fixed-temperature thermal detection device designed for fire alarm and life-safety systems. The sealed construction protects the sensing element from dust, moisture, and environmental contaminants that could cause false activations or premature failure. Licensed fire alarm technicians and low-voltage electricians install this device as part of a listed detection system in commercial and industrial applications.
The CF-165-MP is suited for environments where smoke detectors are not appropriate due to dust, fumes, or high ambient temperatures. Typical installation scenarios include commercial kitchens, attics, mechanical rooms, and storage areas where thermal detection provides a reliable trigger point. The 165 degrees F fixed-temperature rating makes it appropriate for spaces with elevated ambient conditions that would otherwise nuisance-trip a lower-rated detector.
Designed as an OEM-style fixed-temperature heat detector for use in listed commercial and industrial fire alarm detection systems where thermal detection is specified.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or qualified low-voltage electrician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. De-energize the fire alarm control panel and notify the monitoring center before beginning any detector installation or replacement work. Follow the manufacturer data sheet and authority having jurisdiction requirements for mounting height, spacing, and circuit wiring. Do not paint, coat, or obstruct the detector housing after installation.
