Product Description

The POLARIS IPLMD500-8 is an insulated multi-cable tap connector rated for 600 volts, designed for splicing and tapping multiple conductors in electrical distribution applications. The connector accepts copper and aluminum conductors ranging from 4 AWG stranded up to 500 KCMIL stranded across 8 ports. The body is molded from high-dielectric-strength plastisol, eliminating the need for additional taping or external covers after termination. Wire entry ports are located on both sides of the connector, allowing access from either direction. Removable access plugs close unused entry ports, and removable plugs over the hex screws keep the assembly protected. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this device.

The IPLMD500-8 is suited for use in commercial and industrial power distribution panels, wireways, troughs, and junction points where multiple conductors must be joined or tapped in a single location. Mounting holes at each end of the connector allow for direct isolated mounting to a trough, panel, or wireway.
