The POLARIS IPLD350-4 is an insulated multi-cable tap connector rated for 600 volts, designed to splice and branch copper or aluminum conductors without the need for additional taping or separate covers. The connector accepts a minimum conductor size of 6 AWG stranded and a maximum of 350 KCMIL stranded across four ports, making it suitable for high-ampacity branch connections in commercial and industrial wiring applications. The body is molded from high-dielectric-strength plastisol and is rated to 90 degrees C. Hex-screw access points are covered by removable plugs, keeping the connection protected and the job clean. Licensed electricians are the primary installers of this device.
This tap connector is used in electrical distribution work where multiple conductors must be joined at a splice point without an enclosure or junction box serving as the primary insulation barrier. The two-sided cable entry allows conductors to enter from either side of the connector, giving installers flexibility in tight conduit or panel work. Unused entry ports are sealed with removable plugs included with the connector. The IPLD350-4 is listed to UL 486B and carries UL approval for both Canada and the United States, making it appropriate for projects governed by the NEC or Canadian Electrical Code.
Designed as an OEM-style insulated multi-tap connector for use with copper or aluminum stranded conductors in 600-volt electrical distribution and splicing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any connections. Seat conductors fully into each port and tighten hex screws to manufacturer torque requirements using the appropriate hex key. Install removable plugs over any unused entry ports before returning the circuit to service.
