The PLUMB SHOP DIV BRASSCRAFT 453-134 is a white Schedule 40 PVC P-trap designed for lavatory and kitchen wall drain applications. It accepts either a 1-1/4 inch or 1-1/2 inch O.D. tube at the inlet via slip joint connection, providing installation flexibility without additional adapters. The outlet connects to a 1-1/2 inch O.D. tube using solvent weld. Nuts and washers are included in the package. Licensed plumbers and experienced DIYers install this trap as a direct drain path component between the fixture drain and the wall stub-out, relying on the trap seal to block sewer gases from entering the living space.
This P-trap is suited for residential lavatory sinks and kitchen sinks that drain to a wall outlet. The dual-inlet sizing — accommodating both 1-1/4 inch and 1-1/2 inch O.D. tubing — makes it practical for retrofit and replacement work where the existing drain tailpiece diameter varies by fixture. The solvent-weld outlet provides a permanent, leak-resistant connection to the drain arm. It is a commonly stocked part for service plumbers handling bathroom remodels, kitchen sink replacements, and drain repairs under residential code requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement P-trap for residential lavatory and kitchen sink drain systems with wall outlet configurations accepting 1-1/2 inch O.D. drain arms.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified tradesperson in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local amendments. Shut off the water supply and clear standing water from the drain before removing the existing trap. Apply primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 40 PVC at the solvent weld outlet connection; do not overtighten slip joint nuts by hand or with channel-lock pliers beyond snug. Verify the trap seal holds water after installation and check all slip joint connections for leaks before returning the fixture to service.
