The PIPE E100 is a 1-inch EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing) conduit used to route and protect electrical conductors in commercial and residential wiring installations. EMT is a thin-wall steel conduit that provides mechanical protection for conductors while allowing wire pulls without the bulk of rigid conduit. At 67 pounds per 100 feet, this conduit is lightweight relative to rigid steel alternatives, making it practical for extended runs. It is installed by licensed electricians in wall, ceiling, and exposed-surface applications where a durable, code-compliant raceway is required.
This 1-inch EMT conduit is suited for branch-circuit and feeder wiring in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and residential construction. The 1-inch trade size accommodates a range of conductor fill configurations per NEC fill tables. It is commonly used in exposed conduit runs in mechanical rooms, along structural steel, and in concrete-encased or above-grade applications where EMT is permitted by the applicable electrical code.
Designed for use with standard 1-inch EMT compression or set-screw fittings, couplings, and conduit bodies conforming to UL 797 and ANSI C80.3 requirements for electrical metallic tubing.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) Article 358 governing EMT. De-energize all circuits in the work area before pulling conductors or making terminations. Use appropriate benders, reamers, and cutters sized for 1-inch EMT to avoid deforming the tube wall or leaving sharp edges that could damage conductor insulation. Secure and support the conduit at intervals required by the applicable code.
