The PIP 946/XL is a split cowhide leather welding glove sized for X-Large hands, designed to protect workers during gas welding, torch work, and general welding operations. The glove is uncoated, with a one-piece back construction and a reinforced wing thumb crotch that extends service life in high-wear areas. The lining is a para-aramid blend, providing thermal protection without excessive bulk. Stitching is Kevlar throughout for added durability under heat and abrasion. This glove meets ANSI/ISEA Cut Level A4 and Puncture Level 3 ratings, making it a sound choice for environments where multiple hazards are present. Licensed HVAC, welding, or industrial maintenance professionals will find this glove suited to sustained hand protection demands.
The 946/XL is built for use in steel mills, shipyards, manufacturing facilities, automotive shops, and anywhere torch work is performed. The suede grip surface improves tool and material handling in both dry and light-scale environments. The straight cuff style allows quick donning and removal. Women's sizing equivalent is 2X-Large. The glove ships as a pair and is intended for general welding applications where cut, abrasion, and heat protection are required simultaneously.
Designed for general welding applications including gas welding, torch work, and light industrial hand protection in steel mills, shipyards, manufacturing, automotive, and similar environments.
These gloves are donned and removed by hand — no tools required. Inspect gloves before each use for cuts, heat damage, or compromised stitching, and replace if structural integrity is in question. Do not use damaged gloves in active welding or torch operations. Follow all applicable workplace safety standards and employer PPE programs when selecting and deploying hand protection.
