The PIP 946/L is a split cowhide leather welding glove engineered for gas welding and general welding applications. The glove is constructed from premium-grade split cowhide leather with a one-piece back design that extends service life in high-wear environments. A para-aramid blend lining provides thermal protection, while Kevlar stitching resists heat and abrasion at the seams. The wing thumb design and reinforced thumb crotch reduce stress at one of the most common failure points in welding gloves. Sized large for men or extra-large for women, the glove ships as a pair with a straight cuff style and suede grip surface.
The 946/L is suited for steel mills, shipyards, manufacturing facilities, automotive shops, and torch work environments. It is a lined, uncoated glove intended for workers who require cut, abrasion, and heat protection without a coated palm surface. The suede grip surface provides tactile feedback during torch handling and material positioning. This glove meets ANSI/ISEA Cut Level A4, ANSI/ISEA Puncture Level 3, and ASTM F2992-15 standards, making it appropriate for tasks requiring certified hand protection in industrial and fabrication settings.
Designed for general welding and gas welding applications including steel mills, shipyards, manufacturing, automotive, and torch work. Sized large (men) or extra-large (women) and sold as a pair.
Welding gloves are donned and inspected by the welder or fabricator before each use. Inspect for cuts, worn seams, or thermal damage before starting work. Do not use damaged gloves near open flame or arc. Replace gloves when Kevlar stitching shows significant wear or when the leather shows burn-through or thinning.
