The PIP 280-HP241R-17 Whistler is a cap-style hard hat built for industrial and construction environments where head protection and all-day comfort are both required. The shell is molded from UV-stabilized High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), keeping the hat lightweight to reduce fatigue during extended shifts. A 4-point quick-release suspension pairs with a non-chafing replaceable foam sweatband and crown comfort pad to hold the hat securely in place. The SURE LOCK wheel ratchet system allows one-handed size adjustment, and precise height settings ensure proper fit depth. This hard hat is rated to Class E electrical insulation requirements at 20,000 volts and meets ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 Type I and CSA Z94.1 Type I standards.
The 280-HP241R-17 is suited for general industry, construction, utility, and infrastructure work where Type I, Class E head protection is specified. The royal blue shell color is commonly used for site color-coding by trade or role. A built-in rain trough channels water away in adverse weather, and a low nape strap keeps the hat on the head when workers are looking down or bending at the waist. Universal accessory slots on the shell accept a wide range of compatible eye, face, and hearing protection accessories, making it adaptable to multi-hazard work environments. Each case contains 12 units.
Designed for use with standard universal hard hat accessories including face shields, earmuffs, and visors that fit Type I cap-style mounting slots. Custom logo imprinting is available on all four sides of the shell.
Hard hat fitting and deployment is performed by safety personnel or the individual worker. Before use, inspect the shell for cracks, dents, or UV degradation, and inspect the suspension for fraying or broken components. Replace the suspension and sweatband as scheduled per the manufacturer service interval or immediately after any impact event. Do not modify the shell, paint it, or apply adhesive labels that may mask damage or compromise the HDPE material.
