The PIP 1868-5 is a premium TIG and MIG welding glove built for welders, pipefitters, and fabricators who need dexterity without sacrificing hand protection. The palm and fingers are constructed from top grain goatskin, delivering a lightweight, form-fitting feel suited for precise TIG work and general MIG welding. The back is split cowhide with a flame resistant insulated lining. Stitching throughout is done with Kevlar thread for added seam strength under heat and abrasion. The glove ships in size Large and is sold individually as each unit.
The 1868-5 is designed for professional welding environments and multi-task shop use including MIG welding, TIG welding, plasma cutting, and material handling. The Kontoura three-dimensional pre-curved finger design and form-fitting construction reduce hand fatigue during extended wear. The long leather cuff provides wrist and forearm coverage, making this glove appropriate for overhead and out-of-position welding where spatter exposure is higher. Suitable for both light industrial and field welding applications.
Designed as a general-purpose welding glove suitable for MIG welding, TIG welding, plasma cutting, and light material handling in professional shop and field environments.
Welding gloves should be inspected before each use for burn-through, worn seams, or compromised padding. Replace gloves immediately if the palm padding, Kevlar stitching, or cuff show signs of failure. Store away from direct heat sources and contaminants such as oils and solvents, which can degrade leather and reduce flame resistance. Follow applicable ANSI and AWS safety standards for hand protection in welding operations.
