The PIP 1828-6 is an unlined cow grain leather welding glove engineered for TIG and MIG welding applications. Built around PIP's Kontoura Design, the glove features pre-curved, three-dimensional fingers and a form-fitting construction that reduces hand fatigue during extended use. The palm and thumb saddle are padded and reinforced, and a patented double-stitched wear-patch adds durability in the highest-contact zones. All stitching is done with Kevlar thread for heat and cut resistance. Top grain leather fourchettes and fingertips round out the construction. This glove is sized X-Large and sold as a pair.
The 1828-6 is suited for professional welders working in fabrication shops, manufacturing facilities, and field environments where TIG and MIG processes are common. The unlined design keeps hand feel close to the work, which is especially valuable for TIG welders who need tactile feedback during precise torch control. The padded palm and reinforced saddle provide protection during MIG runs where spatter and heat exposure are higher. Each pair includes a 3-inch carabiner and Caiman loops to keep gloves together between uses.
Designed for use in TIG and MIG welding applications requiring close dexterity and palm protection. Sized X-Large for a proper fit with standard welding PPE layering.
Welding gloves should be inspected before each use for cuts, thin spots, or degraded stitching. Replace gloves immediately if the leather is burned through or Kevlar seams are frayed. Store away from oils, solvents, and direct sunlight to preserve leather integrity. Follow applicable OSHA and ANSI Z49.1 welding safety requirements for hand protection selection.
