The PIP 148-1000/11 is a drivers-style leather protector glove designed for use over Class 00-0 rubber insulating Novax gloves. It provides mechanical protection during electrical work, shielding the underlying rubber insulating glove from abrasion and physical wear. Constructed from top grain goatskin leather on both the palm and back, this glove offers durability and dexterity for trade professionals working in environments where rubber insulating gloves are required. The full finger construction with keystone thumb design supports grip and hand mobility. Per ASTM F696-06 (2011), this leather protector is not rated for electrical protection and must not be used as a standalone electrical insulating glove.
This glove is intended for use by licensed electricians and electrical tradespeople who require over-glove mechanical protection when working with Class 00-0 rubber insulating gloves. The slip-on cuff with elastic closure allows for a secure, adjustable fit over the rubber insulating glove beneath. At 10.6 inches in length, it provides adequate coverage for most over-glove applications in residential and commercial electrical service work.
Designed for use with Class 00-0 rubber insulating Novax gloves as a mechanical over-glove protector per ASTM F696-06 (2011). Not rated or approved for standalone electrical insulation protection.
This glove is donned over a properly inspected and tested rubber insulating glove — never as a replacement for it. Electricians should verify the rubber insulating glove is free of defects before fitting the leather protector over it. Follow applicable NFPA 70E personal protective equipment requirements for the task at hand. Do not use this leather protector alone for any live electrical work.
