The PFERD 62222 is a conical zirconia flap disc designed for aggressive stock removal on steel and stainless steel surfaces. Measuring 4-1/2 inches in diameter with a 7/8 inch center hole arbor mount, this disc runs at a maximum operating speed of 13,300 RPM. The Z SG POWER STEELOX abrasive grain is suited for high-pressure grinding applications where operators need consistent cut rate and long disc life. The 40-grit designation makes it appropriate for weld blending, surface conditioning, and heavy material removal. Metal fabricators, pipefitters, and ironworkers are the primary users of this disc type.
This flap disc is used in metal fabrication shops, structural steel work, pipeline work, and maintenance repair applications. The conical shape allows the operator to work at a low angle, concentrating grinding pressure on the workpiece edge and weld toe. It is appropriate for use on angle grinders in both shop and field settings. Applications include weld seam blending, surface rust removal, and edge deburring on ferrous metals.
Designed for use on 4-1/2 inch angle grinders equipped with a 7/8 inch arbor and a compatible guard rated for flap disc operation at or above 13,300 RPM.
Installation and use of grinding discs should be performed by operators trained in angle grinder safety per ANSI B11.9 and applicable OSHA standards. Always confirm the grinder is rated at or above the disc maximum operating speed before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and never operate without the proper grinding guard in place. Power down and disconnect the grinder from the power source before changing discs.
