The PFERD 62011630 is a Type 27 depressed center grinding wheel designed for aggressive material removal on steel and stainless steel. It measures 4.5 inches in diameter with a 7/8 inch arbor hole and features a 46-grit aluminum oxide abrasive bonded with a resinoid bond system. The depressed center profile provides clearance for flat grinding passes and edge work. Rated to 13,300 RPM maximum, this wheel mounts to standard right-angle grinders used by fabricators, welders, pipefitters, and maintenance mechanics. At 0.06 inches thick, it delivers consistent stock removal across a range of ferrous applications.
This grinding wheel is suited for use on mild steel and stainless steel in fabrication shops, field welding operations, and industrial maintenance environments. The 46-grit rating makes it appropriate for general-purpose grinding, weld blending, and surface conditioning where a medium-coarse cut is required. The arbor connector type fits directly onto standard right-angle grinder spindles without additional adapters in most common tool configurations.
Designed as a replacement-style Type 27 depressed center grinding wheel for use on 4.5 inch right-angle grinders with a 7/8 inch arbor spindle. Suitable for ferrous material applications including steel and stainless steel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel mounting. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before mounting and never exceed the rated 13,300 RPM maximum speed. Power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before mounting or removing the wheel. Always use the correct guard and flange configuration specified for Type 27 wheels by the grinder manufacturer.
