The PFERD 61721221 is a Type 1 (01/41) flat cut-off wheel engineered for cutting steel in fabrication, maintenance, and metalworking applications. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a resinoid bond, this reinforced wheel delivers consistent, controlled cuts on ferrous metal. At 6 inches in diameter and 0.045 inches thick, it runs at a maximum of 10,200 RPM and is rated to specification A46P. The 46-grit structure balances cut rate and edge life across a range of steel stock thicknesses. At 0.152 pounds, it fits standard right-angle grinders with a 7/8-inch arbor hole.
This wheel is suited for licensed welders, pipefitters, ironworkers, and maintenance mechanics cutting structural steel, pipe, angle iron, and sheet metal. Its flat Type 1 profile is the standard configuration for right-angle grinders used in both shop and field settings. The thin kerf reduces material loss and heat generation during the cut, making it practical for repetitive cutting tasks.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard consumable for right-angle grinders accepting Type 1 flat cut-off wheels with a 7/8-inch arbor. Rated for use on steel per specification A46P.
Cut-off wheels are installed and used by metalworkers, welders, and maintenance trades. Always confirm the grinder's rated RPM meets or exceeds the wheel's 10,200 RPM maximum before mounting. Power down and disconnect the grinder before changing wheels, and ensure the wheel is properly seated and the guard is in place before resuming operation. Wear appropriate PPE including face shield and gloves; never use a cut-off wheel for grinding on the flat face.
