The PFERD 61340424 is a Type 1 (01/41) flat cut-off wheel designed for grinding and cutting applications in metalworking. It measures 4.5 inches in diameter with a 0.045-inch thickness and a 7/8-inch arbor hole. The wheel is constructed from aluminum oxide abrasive bonded with a resinoid bond and reinforced for added durability under load. Rated at a maximum of 13300 RPM, it carries a hardness code of R and a specification designation of A46R. This wheel is suited for use with 4.5-inch angle grinders and cut-off tools operated by metalworking tradespeople and fabricators.
This cut-off wheel is specifically rated for cutting stainless steel. The 46-grit aluminum oxide abrasive provides an effective cut rate on stainless and other ferrous metals in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and field service settings. At 0.045 inches thick, the wheel offers a narrow kerf, reducing material loss and heat buildup during cuts. Its compact 4.5-inch diameter makes it practical for tight access cuts on pipe, tube, structural stock, and sheet metal.
Designed for use with 4.5-inch angle grinders and cut-off tools fitted with a 7/8-inch arbor. Rated for cutting stainless steel per the A46R specification.
Mounting and replacement of cut-off wheels must be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before changing wheels. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before mounting, and never exceed the rated maximum RPM of 13300. Use the appropriate flange and nut for a 7/8-inch arbor, and ensure the guard is in place before operation.
